We kid, we kid, we know there are hotter places. So as a result of our looking at hot places – perhaps to sympathize with them, perhaps to gloat – we have found a few paintings and photographs of really hot places we thought you might like. We know we have many fans of our site who love the aridness of the desert and feel that the hotter a place is, the better they feel. So take a break, put your feet up, have something cold to drink, and enjoy our collection of hot stuff.

Death Valley, California

We are not sure if you know this, but this spot in eastern California between two deserts is the hottest spot on Earth. They have had the record high temperature of 134 degrees set in 1913, and even after 100 years, no other place has come close to beating it. The average temperature of Death Valley during the summer is 116 degrees. Despite the blistering heat that is hazardous to your health, artists and photographers have created art with Death Valley as its subject. There are wall art pictures of signs in Death Valley amid the barren mountains, paired with photos of the mountains that surround the valley floor, and beautiful photos of the valley at night with millions of stars. The colors of the rocks in Death Valley are a contrast to the blue sky – painted rocks of orange and yellow. Take a minute and browse through the hottest collection we have.

Dallol, Ethiopia

While Death Valley has the highest recorded temperature ever, Dallol, located in the Rift Valley in Africa, has the hottest average temperature of 106 degrees every day. We do not know about your feelings on the heat, but that is pretty hot, day in and day out. Here we have wall art of photographs of camels walking across the valley shimmering with heat. Dallol also has a hydrothermal fields, which only bump up the heat more. There are acidic hot springs here as well, which make for some interesting photographs, as well as pools of water you would not want to dip your foot into. However, it is worth noting that early man came from this area, so he or she must have been way tougher than we are.

All wordplay aside, the hottest areas of the Earth are beautiful and deserve your love and attention. Have a look at our desert art, and take some home, hopefully to a place that is a bit cooler.
